Pastors and Staff

Vince DiPaola
Senior Pastor

After living and working in Florida and Texas for eight years as an Electrical Engineer, I moved back to Rochester in 1994 and started Lakeshore in 1995 with just four people who all have the same last name! They are my fantastic wife Sue, son David and daughter Alisha. While we began the church with no members, no meeting place, no money, and precious little ministry experience, God has been gracious in allowing me to Pastor a great, growing group of people here at Lakeshore who care deeply about God and others. It's been a great ride of faith!

I graduated from RIT with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1985 and within a few years of working in that field, sensed a calling to transition my career into pastoral ministry. Sue and I moved to Dallas, Texas and we both graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary. I received a Master of Theology degree, with honors, in 1993.

In my spare time away from work I enjoy football (I'm an avid New Orleans Saints fan), Karate (I earned a Black Belt in 1999), warm weather (I know, what am I doing here?!?!?), yard work, and water related activities like boating and water skiing.

As Lakeshore's XP I get the priviledge of coaching our awesomely dedicated ministry leaders, managing the best church staff ever, and building into people by overseeing the care and counseling piece of our ministry.

My wife Laura and I began attending LCC in September 1999. We were drawn to LCC because the church reaches out to people and shares the gospel in culturally relevant, fresh, and creative ways with those who are spiritually seeking. The casual environment makes it a great place to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers who might not normally go to church or who feel like they don't fit in at other churches.

Laura and I were married in 1998 and have two beautiful daughters - Martina and Mazie - who make life interesting. We love getting amped up on espresso, playing loud music, being out-of-doors, feeding guests, and visiting our families on Long Island and in Italy.

I am passionate about helping people take the next right step in their relationship with Christ, no matter where they've been or what they've done. There's nothing more exciting to me than seeing someone accept Christ and begin to take legitimate steps towards a closer connection with Him. I've been around church my whole life, so I know how to play the game and fake it - and for many years that's exactly what I did. Then one day I truly realized, after hearing it for years, that God loves me just the way I am without having to pretend. When that truth finally sunk in, it changed the game forever. I graduated from Baptist Bible College and married my wife Shanna in 2005. Three years later in 2008 we moved to Rochester to join the team here at Lakeshore. Since then we've welcomed Adelina and Cooper into the world and absolutely love spending our time together as a family. We are passionate about small groups and other similar environments where we can help others be real and authentic as they live out their faith.

I am so honored and humbled to be part of Lakeshore Community Church as Creative Arts Pastor. There is something to be said about joining together every week with such dedicated and talented people to minister to others through the gift of the arts.

I was blessed to have the opportunity to attend Cairn University where I received my degree in Biblical Studies, as well as some graduate work at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Worship Studies. Prior to joining the Lakeshore family, I served as Worship Arts Pastor at Bayside Chapel in Barnegat, NJ for nearly 6 years.

My wife Stephanie and I have 4 amazing boys; Daniel, Joshua, Nathan and Elijah. We love being outside, playing with action figures, and playing video games.

Will Strowe
Student Pastor

After being a part of Lakeshore for such a long time growing up, it’s crazy to now see myself have an opportunity to give back to this church community  that has influenced me so much spiritually. After graduating from Houghton College in 2014 with a major in Religion and focus in Youth Ministry, I am so at peace with how God has worked to bring me back to Lakeshore to work and serve.  I know there is a lot in store down the road, but as I take this new season of life, step by step, I’m so happy to be surrounded by this loving family here at Lakeshore.

I love the opportunity to work with such a dedicated staff, an amazing and diverse group of adults leaders, and of course, teens of all ages, backgrounds, and seasons of life.

I am a big fan of sports, especially basketball, baseball, and football, and enjoy playing or watching just about anything! I also love music; playing my guitar, listening to my enormous iTunes selection, or creating music with friends. Finally, wilderness adventures, quality time with friends, road trips, video games, movies, and eating yummy food, are all things that make life exciting for me!

Jill Freese
Children's Director

My husband, David, and I began attending Lakeshore in September, 2000. I became involved with Lakeshore Kids and am now thrilled to serve as Lakeshore's Children's Director. Up until the time I became a stay-at-home mom for our sons, Andrew and Daniel, I was a special education teacher.

I find children to be exhilarating and full of surprises! It is both a challenge and a privilege to lead a devoted team who give of their time and effort in children's ministry. I enjoy music, scrapbooking, crafts and having fun with my guys.

Kathy Shepanski
Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor

As Pastor Vince's Administrative Assistant, I help Pastor Vince with the day to day task of equipping the leadership at Lakeshore with the right tools to be effective in their ministries. My job is to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, Staff, Trustees and key leaders. I enjoy working with the church office staff and volunteers as we work together to serve the people of Lakeshore.

I committed my life to Christ in 1975 and then was baptized in 1977 (life changing). We attended Rock Church in Virginia Beach while Jim was in the Navy, then we moved to Greece and attended Greece Assembly of God for twelve years before helping pioneer a new church in Chili, Calvary Assembly of God. Then we felt God’s stirring to serve in Greece and discovered Lakeshore Community Church! What a blessing to be here to serve and grow in our walk with Jesus Christ.

I have been married for over 35 years and have four wonderful adult children. I have been blessed with awesome daughter & son in-laws and seven wonderful grandchildren. God has richly blessed our family.

Stacy Mariano
Church Secretary

My husband Tom & I moved to the Rochester area and began attending Lakeshore in July of 2004. We quickly knew that we had found our new church home and began getting involved in various ministries of the church. I joined the music ministry in 2005 and count it an honor to help lead our congregation into God’s presence on Sunday mornings. I am energized by using my voice to bring praise to the Lord. I enjoy a good book, a brisk walk, and all things music.

Tom and I have been Christians for over 30 years and have been married since 1991. We have two sons and a daughter who remind us of the importance of walking daily with God. I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for the better part of 18 years and decided to take on a job outside of our home. I began working in the office at Lakeshore in September of 2010 and have enjoyed serving the Lord and the people of LCC by joining the team. I hope to be a support to our staff and to be a light that points to Christ to every person I interact with each day.

Laurie Dick
Programming Secretary

My husband, Jeff, and I have been attending Lakeshore since January 2007. We instantly knew this was our church home. Prior to Lakeshore I had been a youth worker for 7 years and naturally became involved in Ignite Student Ministries, still loving hanging out with students.

I also became involved in the Programming Ministry Team, using my gift of creativity in Stage Design for the past 4 years. I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to put my degree in Interior Design to work in this capacity for the Lord. I have been a stay-at-home mom for 15 years raising my daughter and two sons (all teenagers). I was very excited to answer Gods call and become part of Lakeshore’s support office staff.

I enjoy having fun too! Seeing a great musical, playing volleyball, camping, spending the summer at the waterpark, sewing, and reading a good book are only a few of the thing I love to do. One day, I would love to go on a mission’s trip to Mozambique Africa with a team from Lakeshore, and truly become the hand and feet of Christ.

Sal Mejia
Facilities Director

My wife and I moved from NYC to Rochester with our three daughters after 9/11 looking for a quiet and better place to raise our family. First we attended a Spanish Methodist Church but our kids were struggling with Spanish services, so we decided to explore Lakeshore. The first moment we entered the doors we knew that this was the church we were looking for.

I'm Lakeshore's Facilities Director and my whole family is involved in different ministries in the church. I can do anything in Christ, who give me strength. Philippians 4:13

Jaime Malavé

I’ve been coming to Lakeshore since 2010 after moving here from Puerto Rico. I decided that I wanted a change and that it was better to move now that I was single than moving later with a family. It’s different and definitely colder but it is awesome to be in a place that has all four seasons. Finding Lakeshore and having such an awesome church family has been great, especially being so far away from my family.

With a Bachelors degree in communication I worked in Puerto Rico at a Christian television station for two years and later at a radio station for another two years. Working at Lakeshore as a videographer is exciting and the best thing is that there is always something new and something different to do. In the future I hope we can keep upping the video quality and come up with cooler and fun ways to show God’s message through video.
